Embracing Cultural Identity

I am wearing my Korean modernized hanbok at work, teaching university students. Why wear just "anything" when you can wear "something!"

Socks in the Hamper

"Papa, you forgot to put your socks in the hamper!"
Children remind the other big kid around the house.

Seeing her Run Towards Me After School

"Mama!"
She runs into my arms as I scoop her up and give her the biggest hug, airport hug and a kiss on her soft cheek. After the school day in second grade.
Priceless.

The Moon Followed Us

We had just arrived home from a dinner outing when we saw the golden, full moon in the night sky. My four year-old then exclaimed "Mama, the moon! It followed us!"

Eggs

"Mama, why did you decide to lay three eggs, I mean, children?"
My 5 year-old asked me today.

Colour in the Sea of Black

When I see some colour in the crowd of uniform adult black on the subway or sidewalk, it brightens up the winter. Everyone, try to add a splash of colour  - scarf, hat, gloves or a coloured backpack. It looks livelier!
